Resize Image to Exact Dimensions

xFormat.space resizes images to exact pixel dimensions, including presets for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, HD, 4K, A4, A5 and Letter, entirely in your browser without uploading the picture.

Runs in your browser — files never leave your device.

How it works

Choose a preset or type your own width and height, position the crop area on the image, and export at exactly that size. The image is processed on your device, so there is no upload and no watermark.

  1. 1

Drop an image onto the page, then open Crop & Resize.

  2. 2

Pick a preset such as Instagram Square (1080 x 1080) or enter a custom width and height.

  3. 3

Drag or zoom the image to choose the area, click Apply Crop, and download the result.

Resize here crops to fit, it doesn't stretch

When you pick a target size, the selection box locks to that aspect ratio and you slide it over the part of the picture you want. The selected area is then scaled to the exact pixel size. That avoids squashed faces, but it also means some of the picture is cropped when the ratios differ. Type only a width or only a height and the other value follows the selection's proportions.

Pixels are what the tool works in. The print presets list pixel counts that correspond to a 300 dpi print, but a pixel count is all you are setting, not a DPI tag. Enlarging a small image makes it bigger, not sharper, so start from the largest original you have.

The result keeps the original file type (a PNG stays PNG, a JPG stays JPG) and you can rotate, flip and zoom before applying.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image to 1080 x 1080 for Instagram?

Choose the Instagram Square preset, move the square selection over the part you want to keep, click Apply Crop and download. The output is exactly 1080 x 1080 pixels.

Will resizing stretch or distort my picture?

No. The selection locks to the target ratio and the chosen area is scaled uniformly, so nothing gets squashed. Parts outside the selection are cropped away.

Can I enter my own width and height?

Yes. Fill in a custom width and height to lock the ratio and export at that exact size. Fill in just one to let the other follow the selection.

Does enlarging an image improve its quality?

No. Scaling up smooths the image but cannot add real detail, so it may look soft. Use the largest original you have.

Is the image uploaded to a server?

No. Resizing runs in your browser with no upload, no sign-up and no watermark.
