Online Photo Filters and Effects

xFormat.space applies photo filters such as grayscale, sepia, blur, brightness, contrast, saturation, hue rotate and invert in your browser, with a live preview and no upload.

Runs in your browser — files never leave your device.

How it works

Try a preset or fine-tune the sliders and watch the preview update as you go. When it looks right, apply the effect and download the result. Everything is rendered on your device, so your photos never leave it.

  1. 1

Drop an image onto the page and open Filters & Effects.

  2. 2

Pick a preset or move the sliders for brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, grayscale, sepia, hue rotate and invert.

  3. 3

Click Apply Filter and download the filtered image.

What's in the toolbox

Eight presets: Original, Vivid, Vintage, B&W, Warm, Cool, Dramatic and Fade. Eight sliders sit underneath: brightness, contrast and saturation (0 to 200%, where 100% is unchanged), blur (0 to 20 px), grayscale, sepia and invert (0 to 100%), and hue rotate (0 to 360 degrees). Presets are just slider combinations, so you can start from one and tweak.

One honest limit: there is no sharpen, noise reduction or curves tool. These are color, tone and blur effects, so they won't rescue a soft or out-of-focus photo.

Useful recipes and output notes

For a clean black-and-white photo, use the B&W preset, then nudge the contrast. For a faded retro look, lower contrast and saturation and add a little sepia. Blur is handy for softening a background image behind text, and invert works well for turning a screenshot of dark text into light text.

Filtered images are always exported as PNG, even if you started with a JPG. That keeps quality, but photographs can end up much larger than the original JPG. If you need a smaller file, run the result through the converter or compressor.

Frequently asked questions

Which filters and adjustments are available?

Brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, grayscale, sepia, hue rotate and invert, plus presets named Vivid, Vintage, B&W, Warm, Cool, Dramatic and Fade.

Can I sharpen a blurry photo here?

No. There is no sharpening or noise-reduction tool, only color and tone adjustments and blur.

How do I make a photo black and white?

Click the B&W preset, or set the grayscale slider to 100%. Adjust contrast to taste, then apply and download.

Why is my filtered JPG saved as a PNG?

Filtered results are exported as PNG to avoid another round of lossy compression. Convert the PNG to JPG or WebP afterward if you want a smaller file.

Are my photos uploaded to apply filters?

No. Filters are applied in your browser, so there is no upload, no sign-up and no watermark.
