About xFormat.space

xFormat.space is a free set of online tools for converting, compressing and editing video, audio, images and PDFs, plus OCR text recognition. Everything runs inside your browser, so your files never leave your device.

What it is

We built xFormat.space because most online converters ask you to upload your files to someone else's server. That is slow, often limited in size, and a privacy risk for personal photos, recordings and documents. Here there is no upload, no account and no watermark. The site is a static web page; your browser does the work.

How local processing works

  • Video and audio: your browser's built-in, often hardware-accelerated media encoders do the work. Formats the browser can't handle on its own switch to a compatibility mode, which downloads a processing engine once, and only when needed.
  • Images: conversion, resizing, cropping, compression and filters run on your device using the browser's own image tools.
  • PDF: merging, splitting and compression happen on your device, and pages are rendered locally for text recognition.
  • Text recognition (OCR): a recognition model is downloaded once, then runs entirely on your device.

Who it is for

Anyone who needs a quick conversion without installing software or handing files to a third party: students and office workers handling documents, creators preparing video and audio, photographers and designers resizing images, and privacy-conscious people who simply prefer that their files stay on their own computer or phone.
